JIM'S ROBINSON HERITAGE

Jim's family can only be traced back to his Great-Great Grandparents, Hugh Robinson Sr., and Margarett Farrell, both in Ireland. His Grandparents were Hugh Jr. and Elizabeth Robinson, who were born in Ireland, and later moved to New York, met and married. Hugh Junior's wife was Elizabeth Loyd Dosey (may have been Dorsey, Dorcy, or D'Arcy) Elizabeth's parents were Elizabeth Loyd and William Dosey of Ireland. Elizabeth died on August 10th, 1883, and was interred at Green-Wood Cemetery, Brooklyn, NY. Their children, William and his sister Lottie were placed with the Protestant Half Orphan Asylum in NY by Hugh on March 28, 1884. The children were sent west to Missouri from New York on an orphan train in May 1886, by the Children's Aid Society. Lottie, said in her bible, that she lived on Henry street, and that is where the 1880 census had the four of them living.. Lottie was placed with W. V. Rogers family in Carrolton, MO initially. Then because she didn't get along with the Rogers children, she was re-placed with the Jamerson family in or near Bosworth, MO William was placed with W. H. Hardwick family in Wakenda, MO, then later in 1888 was re-placed with Squire Lee family, in Bosworth. Hugh had a brother named Joseph who also lived in NYC. . .
