THIS DEED, between Sam Campbell and Laura Bell Campbell of Rowdy Perry County Kentucky parties of the first part and Bill Campbell and Beatrice Campbell of Rowdy Kentucky parties of the second part, witnesseth: That said parties of the first part for and in consideration of the sum of Two hundred dollars paid cash in hand the receipt of which is being acknowledged, do hereby sell, grant and convey to the parties of the second part their heirs and assigns, the following described property, to-wit:

Being and lying on Francis Branch a tributary of Troublesome Creek and bounded as the following:

Beginning at the mouth of Joe Field hollow, thence running with a fence of Aron Duff's line to the top of the hill, thence running with dividing ridge of Sam Napier's line to Hiram Campbell line, Thence a straight line to the mouth of a small drain at a poplar tree, thence as it meanders down main Francis Branch to the beginning at the mouth of Joe's Fields. Containing 35 Acres more or less.

Being a part of same land conveyed from Bill Napier to Sam Campbell and Laura Bell Campbell by Deed bearing date xx day of xxx, 194x and of record in Deed book No. 56, Page 103, County Court Clerk's Office.
To have and to hold same, together with all appurtnances, thereunto belonging unto the parties of the second part their heirs and assigns forever with covenant of General warranty.

In testimony whereof, witness our signature, this 18th day of January, 1947.

I, Gorman M. Allen, Notary Public for the County and State aforesaid, do certify that the foregoing Deed from Sam Campbell & Laura B. Campbell to Bill Campbell and Beatrice Campbell was on the 18th day of January, 1947, produced to me in said County and acknowledged and delivered by Sam Campbell and Laura B. Campbell party grantors thereto to be their act and deed.

It shows that Sam and Laura Belle bought this land from William Napier. The only close William Napier I find is Laura Belle's uncle, brother to her father Hiram Napier.


NOTE 1: I typed this deed from a photocopy of the original document. I have that photocopy in my files.

NOTE 2: The dates mentioned just before the ref: to Deed Book No. 56 are blank and underscored.

NOTE 3: Sam and Laura's signatures are faded and unreadable, but the Catherine B York signature is perfectly readable.
